The kid’s got it made…7 months old and knows the sweet taste of a Super Bowl Championship and the sweet smell of a new car. I wasn’t sure how long it would take to do trade-in paperwork and get the keys to our new car, but I knew it would probably be long. Oh boy…after 2 hours at the dealership, we finally drove off the lot.
A new ride meant that we were going to install LJ’s big girl car seat, and Britax Marathon. I am so relieved that I don’t have to lug around the infant car seat anymore. She was getting too heavy! As we were driving home, I turned around and noticed that her head was in a full slump forward and she was sleeping. Clearly, we don’t have the angle of the seat correct. I need to read the instruction manual and get in there tonight before our road trip tomorrow. 6 hours to Montreal for a long weekend to break in the new Black Beauty and LJ cannot have a slumpy head.
I checked out a few videos on YouTube and installing the new car seat looks relatively easy. I need to definitely tether it to the floor, as its rear-facing and the top is a little wobbly. We used the LATCHES for the first time since our new car comes equipped with them.
Have any of you have any negative experiences moving a baby from an infant car seat to a convertable seat? LJ is 7 months, and weighs 20 lbs so we thought it would be a good time to make the switch.
Excited to head up to Montreal tomorrow for some good food, hockey, and family time.
